Projects in the West
BASELINE
Performed diamond wire sawing and Brokking for fish flume system.
BENICIA REFINERY
Diamond wire sawed compressor foundations for sectioning.
BNSF BILLINGS
Taking less than a week, two Bluegrass technicians diamond wire sawed multiple, four feet by eighteen feet bridge piers for removal after the new railroad bridge was built.
BRIGHTWATER PROJECT
KENNY CONSTRUCTION
Bluegrass technicians scheduled to make two isolation cuts for slurry wall demolition which measures four feet by sixty feet at thirty feet tall.
For more project details visit The Brightwater Project.
Columbia Energy
Bluegrass designed, fabricated and performed full scale mockup testing of remote deployed and operated cutting system to cut and remove a portion of the tank roof for robotic deployment of tank cleaning system in support of Washington River Protection Solutions cleanup effort at the Hanford tank farm.
Humboldt Bay
Bluegrass technicians will diamond wire saw concrete and metal cutting in support of the decommissioning of the Humboldt Bay Nuclear Power Plant.
HUMBOLDT PLANT
Bluegrass diamond wire cut a 250’ tall concrete ventilation stack located directly adjacent to the spent fuel storage area. Bluegrass cut the stack into ring sections of specified length, while working from a moveable, elevated platform. All cooling water was contained and recycled during the cutting process due to contamination potential.
KISSNER PRICE-STUBB DAM
Bluegrass technicians diamond wire sawed an ogee dam cut twelve feet by nine feet by three feet as well as core drilled three holes nine feet deep.
RIVERSIDE
Cut down a 30' diameter water intake tower with the last phase of the diamond wire sawing being done 100' underwater.
ROCKY REACH DAM
Diamond wire sawed and Brokking for fish bypass system.
SMUD
Diamond wire sawed in support of the Reactor Vessel Head Segmentation project as well as segmenting reactor head for transport.
SMUD Shaver
Bluegrass performed a technology demonstration of the Marcrist Diamond Floor Shaver and MWS300 Wall Shaver, at the Rancho Seco Nuclear Power Plant turbine building, as requested by the DOE and EPRI, and in conjunction with the National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) and several nuclear utility companies. The floor and remote controlled surface decontamination shaving systems shaved concrete at 1/8” to 1/4“ depths, producing a completely smooth, finished surface.
SPHERE ENCLOSURE BUILDING
Performend diamond wire sawing in support of decommissioning of Unit 1 for the demolition of the Sphere Enclosure Building.
WANAPUM
Diamond wire sawed openings in dam to create fish bypass system.
Wanapum Dam Unit Infil
Bluegrass technicians will diamond wire saw 15 areas 75' down upstream wall.Total cutting is estimated at 7,695 square feet.
BRILLIANT DAM
Bluegrass technicians wire sawed a notch from nine piers which required eight feet deep wire access holes. The removed blocks were thirteen tons each and required one vertical and one horizontal cut per pier.
"Bluegrass' expertise in diamond wire sawing services was a great benefit to Dix Corporation while preparing for the installation of a spillway isolation gate at Brilliant Dam."
