Bluegrass’ offshore effort was a natural migration given our experience in the nuclear industry, heavy steel cutting of reactor nozzles, marine cutting of crane pintles, and cruise ship crank shafts. We have developed a patented family of saws which are attached to drill rig legs, casings, etc. by diver or ROVs. Robustly engineered with mission sensitive design Bluegrass saws allow easy deployment, predictable cut rates, and minimal dive time.
Our familiy of saws have brought to the offshore market consistant performance resulting in predictable cut rates and substantially reduced vessel and diver time previously devoted to underwater cutting. Our robust design and ease of deployment have resulted in innovative solutions reducing what had been an adventure to routine.

Offshore Cutter: Bluegrass
Gulf of Mexico
Working from a DP vessel, Bluegrass technicians made multiple cuts on thirty-three inch diameter cans at an average depth of eighty-five feet. Average cut time was one and a half hours per cut with each cut requiring the use of a single wire.
